Frequently Asked Questions

What documents need ID photos?

Many official documents require photos: passports, visas (tourist, student, work, business, transit), green cards, driver licenses, national ID cards, professional licenses, student IDs, residence permits, travel documents, and more. Each has specific photo requirements.

Are all ID photo requirements the same?

No. Different documents have different photo specifications even within the same country. For example, a US passport photo (2x2 inches, white background) differs from a Schengen visa photo (35x45mm, light grey background). Always check the specific requirements for your document type and country.

Can I use the same photo for different documents?

Sometimes, if both documents share the same size and specification requirements and the photo is recent enough (within 3-6 months typically). However, many documents have unique requirements, so it's often safer to generate a photo specifically for each document.

How recent does my ID photo need to be?

Most documents require photos taken within 6 months of application. Some are stricter: US Green Card photos must be within 30 days, OCI cards within 3 months. The key requirement is that the photo must accurately represent your current appearance.
