The 20×25mm format is primarily used for student ID cards, employee badges, gym memberships, library cards, and some professional micro-licenses. It's rarely used for government travel documents but may appear on certain small-format national ID cards in some developing countries.

While 20×25mm is very small, if captured at high resolution (600 DPI recommended, giving 472×591 pixels), it can contain sufficient facial detail for basic identification purposes. However, it may not meet strict biometric standards required for international travel documents, which typically require larger formats.
